So Big Papa, got an elk this year, and that means we get to eat lots of elk around here also. I am not very adventurous when it comes to cooking wild game, but I have stepped out of my comfort zone, and have been enjoying cooking with elk.. We have had lots of elk burgers, and this past week I made shredded elk burritos in the Crockpot. They turned out fabulous, and the boys ate every bit - mostly I believe because they are so proud of their papa shooting the elk, and they have a picture of the deceased elk in their room. I have asked that they keep that picture put away while I fix dinner, something about that poor dead elk looking at me, then cooking his meat gives me the creeps.
