If my uniform doesn't get dirty, I haven't done anything in the baseball game....

If I haven't posted enough baseball pictures already here are more.....I absolutely love baseball season, the smells, the sounds, I LOVE it!

Mother's Day 2010

My Mother's Day post has been a long time in the making, not because I have many deep thoughts to write, simply because of life, its funny how things can get so busy, and what seemed like just happened was weeks ago now.
All the kiddos out did themselves on Mother's Day, Kaden woke me up with a glass of orange juice, and pictures, I worried for a long time about the picture he did of me, is that really how he sees me, is that how I really look, Kevin reassured me that I didn't really look like that, even in the morning!

My Momma...

you know i wasn't the hardest kid to raise. but i wasn't peaches either.
it's amazing how the cycle of life happens in relationships doesn't it? let me try to explain.

when i was little i wanted to be just like my mom. she loved to bake, she loved to sew. she loved being outside, planting, or gardening.

when i became a teenager i wanted to be just the opposite of her. "i'll never be this overbearing over my daughter!!!" i would tell myself.

when i was a young mother i wanted my freedom to do my own style of mothering. "mom i have read all the books and the books say that i should do it this way, its what everyone is doing, and besides i am sure that things have changed a lot from when you had me."

now with a few years under my belt of parenting i want to try to remember some of the things my mother used to do in order to handle situations. she never screamed, always listened, quick to hug and forgive, i think that maybe she was onto something, hmmm maybe she could write the books...

and many times i feel the need to call her to say "i'm sorry that i was such a snot when i did or said_____ or what did you do when____? how would you handle this____?

i remember my mom always telling me "you just wait till you have kids of your own." well mom i do, and now i get it. you were just trying to do your best.

so mom i just want to say thanks and to let you know that i'm so happy with how we've grown and matured into our roles from mother and daughter to grandmother and mother. i hope to emulate the love and freedom you have given me,  to grow and mature on my own to be the adult and mother and wife that i'm suppose to be. you are a blessing to the lives of all your children and grandchildren, and such a wonderful example of what God created a momma to be. thanks for listening to my needs. i hope to do the same for my kids.

happy mother's day.

love you lots! happy mother's day!
